Portrait of the Italian composer, famous 19th-century operist, author of masterpieces such as L’elisir d’amore, Lucia di Lammermoor and Don Pasquale. Not only painted but carved with chisel (depth 12 mm) in the Florentine technique of the fifteenth century, this Opera merges sculpture and painting into a single work, transmitting great three-dimensionality and depth to the portrait. The custom-made frame is bush-hammered with an awl and painted in gold.
