Inspired by the greatness of Dante Alighieri, it depicts Hell, the first of the three canticles of the Divine Comedy.
On the facades of the book the famous illustrations by Gustave Doré are carved with chisel and in the center the portraits of Dante and Virgil.
The Opera was chosen by the Italian Embassy in the Principality of Monaco under the Patronage of Prince Albert II & the President of the Italian Republic, to represent italian Excellences at “The Month of the Italian Culture & Language”
